project highlights over my career
Channel Switcher
An exploratory redesign of Twitch's browsing experience to help millions of viewers discover and sample streams more fluidly.
Content classification labels
A scalable content classification system used across millions of streams while maintaining safety.
Experiment internal tooling
Two internal tools that accelerated Twitch's feature development: an A/B test results visualizer built on the Growth team, and a Hackathon-winning project turned internal tool for bucket configuration.
Member filtering
A full-stack NextJS application with a Firebase backend, with real-time filtering and custom form components for the Native Hawaiian tech community.
Member onboarding
A sign-up process that welcomes new members into our community. Built with Hawaiian values in mind to make everyone feel welcome from the start.
Login & sign up
A new authentication system, migrating from legacy iFrames to a modern React implementation with custom animations and cross-platform consistency.
Pasifika in Tech event
Brought together Pacific Islander tech professionals for our first-ever community gathering. I helped make it happen by finding us a venue and designing all our event materials to help our community connect.
Metadata patterns
A metadata component system built in React with flexbox, implementing adaptive layouts and optimized rendering patterns for global deployment.
Profile picture roundification
A platform-wide visual refresh that modernized Twitch's avatar styling. While simple in concept, this update required extensive coordination, with the goal of maintaining creator trust and design consistency across our service.
Graph visualization in mo'okū'auhau
Ever wonder how family trees can be represented in a graph database? I created this visualization to show how computer science concepts like DAGs (directed acyclic graphs) can help us understand Hawaiian genealogy (mo'okū'auhau). This concept bridges computer science with cultural knowledge systems.
Hackathon event
Our first Native Hawaiian hackathon where we brought together local developers, designers, and entrepreneurs to explore building genealogy tools for the community.
Pizzeria drawing app
One of my favorite interactive projects from early in my career; adding a purely-for-fun drawing experience to the top of a pizzeria website.
